Eastland Vision House ("we", "us") runs eastlandvision.com in Mbale, Uganda. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
Information we collect
- Account details — if you create an account: your name, email address, optional phone number, and a securely hashed password (we never see your actual password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Comments and likes — the name and text you submit, and your IP address to prevent spam.
- Technical information — like most websites, our server records basic request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and to keep the site running.
How we use it
- To give clients access to their private albums and to run your account.
- To send emails you ask for, such as password-reset links.
- To moderate comments and protect the site from abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: one keeps you signed in, and one protects the Google sign-in process. They are essential for the site to work.
Advertising
Some pages (News, Posts, Videos and Live) show advertising, including ads served by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Our albums, gallery and home pages do not show ads.
News summaries
Our News section publishes original short summaries of stories reported by other outlets, always credited and linked to the original. If you represent a publisher and have a concern about a summary, contact us and we will respond promptly.
How long we keep information
Account information is kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time. Password-reset links expire after one hour.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can edit your name and phone number yourself under My Account after signing in.
